Drones for Obama

It's time for the left -- professional, anti-war and otherwise -- to put aside their purity and become President Obama's domestic drones this election season, or at least that's what I argue in The New Inquiry. Check it out.

  1. I knew there was a reason I liked that publication. Jacobin has some good bits as well, but they do tend towards the more Marxist and even establishment Left viewpoints often.

Good article. Are you going to be a regular contributor there now?

  2. They're good people over there. I'm not sure about "regular contributor," but I'll definitely contribute more when I'm so inspired.

And oh yeah, that omnipresently ubiquitous "Marxist viewpoint", how enough of it have we had!

  6. Looks like you made a favorable impression on Greenwald when you filled in for him. He gave a link to this piece - as a separate blurb at the end - in his column today: http://www.salon.com/2012/07/26/protectors_of_wall_street/

Anyone care to explain just what this article was supposed to accomplish?

  8. Anon, it just cruelly mocks the saint Obama over silly, piddling little nothing issues and basically hands the election over to Romney. For you see, Mr. Davis is a bad, bitter person who kicks kittens and whose parents didn't hug him enough.

Charles, that was simply beautiful (in a disturbing, awful way, of course).

Thanks so much for writing it.

    Nothing short of world peace.

  11. Nothing short of world peace.

A leftwing illiberal is foiled again by leftism, just like all the other times.

It's by the way that Obama's supporters in 2008 were drones. Thus did he have the support to win the big popularity contest.

  12. A little late to the comment party, but... bravo. A couple of classic lines in there: the Allman Brothers gag was a terrific encapsulation of the Dem attitude (i.e. objecting to the GOP's style, not its substance), and the "hunting Muslims" punchline was also a bullseye. Very well done.
