"Innocent people were targeted for killing. Hospitals and ambulances were attacked. Journalists were arrested, sexually assaulted, and killed. Supplies of food and fuel were choked off. Water for hundreds of thousands of people ... was shut off. Cities and towns were shelled, mosques were destroyed, and apartment buildings reduced to rubble. Military jets and helicopter gunships were unleashed upon people who had no means to defend themselves against assaults from the air."Haha, jk! Obama was talking about
The funniest, laugh-out-loud line of the speech:
"Mindful of the risks and costs of military action, we are naturally reluctant to use force to solve the world’s many challenges."... says the guy who has deployed U.S. special forces in more than 75 countries and oversees a global empire that maintains military bases in more than 130 nations.
My take: Dude's funnier than Bush. More full of himself, too.
Orwell has definitely been replaced by Kafka, perhaps with an assist from Goebbels....
ReplyDeleteWe're in Never-Neverland now. I've read that the "EPA plans to boost radioactivity safety limits up to 100,000-fold increase" http://coto2.wordpress.com/2011/03/28/epa-to-increase-radioactivity-safety-limits/ Is common sense obsolete?
This speech truly was a nadir for our superhero president, and not for lack of competition. And the whole Obama phenomenon has become like some unholy combination of the picture of Dorian Gray and the emperor's new clothes (with a little Narcissus thrown in for good measure).
ReplyDeleteA new IBOPE Zogby Survey finds a majority of likely voters are ready for someone new in the White House, as just 38% say Obama deserves to be re-elected and 55% say it is time for someone new.

Sounds like the public is smarter than generally credited.
